Lead Water Test

£65.00

Recommended for targeted lead testing in drinking water.

Lead is a toxic heavy metal commonly found in UK drinking water, particularly in houses built before the 1970s when lead water pipes were frequently used. Lead is also often a concern for houses with private water supplies (such as boreholes) where the pH of the water may increase corrosion of lead pipes.

Lead can leach from water supply pipes, domestic plumbing, and brass fittings in both hard and soft water areas. Lead can build up in the body and it is recommended that exposure to lead is minimised as far as possible.

Our lead water test provides an analysis of lead contaminants that are found in drinking water. We report the level of lead in parts per billion (equivalent to micrograms per litre) along with pH (acidity), total dissolved solids and water hardness.

Unlike cheaper lead test kits that such as test strips, we determined the amount of lead in our laboratory using a highly sensitive technique called ICP-MS (inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry) which is a gold standard method within the water analysis industry.

Our service includes tracked royal mail delivery both ways.
